hanna – jock, aaron minier, alan brooks

The first and third images were a bit of a surprise: bringing to mind the work of John Klassen, which then raises questions. Could these illustrations be more minimalistic? Less is certainly more and if the images are designed to provoke a chain of thought, they succeed in that. I’m liking this direction a lot , thrown as it is into contrast with what follows by the other artists. The middle additional ideas image is particularly nice, in its restraint and colour palette. Joe Wright has a particular visual approach, which I’m not qualified to describe properly, but it isn’t heavy handed and this and these images sit well with that. A different kind of art. Lastly you see here images from the film itself.
