Oliver East’s painted art makes up the new video for Open Arms, by Elbow. Click on the above image, to see this.







We commissioned Oliver East to paint a piece for my birthday, this year. We asked him to illustrate (sequentially or otherwise) a transit between interior and exterior, or vice versa, in a place he knew. There was no other stipulation, but  we wanted to see how he would choose, explore and represent the changing nature of the space, and what he would single out as being important. This is the piece, below, a wordless story made after the Elbow covers artwork was done, but before the animation in the video. Read it how you will.
