This is Warwick Johnson Cadwell’s Christmas story from 2007, when he did a drawing a day in December. I think he’s some kind of genius. He produces all kinds of drawings all the time. Yesterday he had a large drawing in the family section of the guardian. Today he may draw his boat. Tomorrow he hopefully will post the commission my little nephew Jake is expecting this Christmas (of monkeys). Its seems he can draw for, and entertain, anybody (my favourite to date is the goldfish on a skateboard). This next year we will see his book, Gungle, (based on the Jungle Book) come out, published by Blank Slate, and I’d like to see his little sketchbook published too. There is a real pleasure in seeing Warwick’s work, you never know what you’ll see next and it will always surprise, and there always will be something and it will always be entertaining. I don’t know how he does this.
